Bad Shortcut Killer Sniffs Out Dead Shorcuts in Your Start Menu

Windows: For some reason, a large number of apps leave their shortcuts behind after you've uninstalled them, leaving your start menu cluttered and confusing. Bad Shortcut Killer finds broken shortcuts all over your system and deletes them in one fell swoop.

You could sift through your Start Menu every few weeks trying to find these shortcuts yourself, but honestly, who wants to do that? Bad Shortcut fixer makes cleaning out old shortcuts a two-click affair. Just start it up, and it'll automatically seek out broken shortcuts from all over your system. Then, you can just hit Select All and Delete. We kind of wish the app were portable instead of an installation, but it was useful enough that we'd probably use it again—after all, those shortcuts will accumulate again later. I even found a few shortcuts I didn't even realize were broken, even though I'm pretty compulsive about uninstalling apps and keeping my system neat, so you might be surprised at what it finds.

Bad Shortcut Killer is a free download for Windows only.
